Virtual reality for photonics training

PYLA presents virtual reality for training in laser optics. Directly inspired by video game techniques, our virtual laboratory allows you to practice safely for the user and the equipment. The user is totally immersed in the proposed environment (here, an optical laboratory). All physical phenomena are reproduced in an ultra-realistic way. The developed serious games are complementary to the classical lessons and amplify the pedagogical effects of real practical work. VP2L is currently used in PYLA short courses as well as in Bachelor and Master at the University of Bordeaux.

In addition to its innovative character and its attractiveness, virtual reality offers many advantages: limited hardware cost, availability and mobility, no risk for the user, etc. The environment can be fully customized (laboratory, workshop, workstation, special machine, etc.) and the demonstration or training scenarios are infinitely definable. The applications are numerous: customer demonstrations, training of the sales force or customers, assistance with the installation of equipment, training or assistance to the after-sales service, etc.
